The open matrix and the plant roots provides phytofilter, a true four-stage biological system that removes phosphates, ammonia, nitrates and nitrites.
The effect on water quality is dramatic and completely chemical free. Plants growing on islands are 2-5 times more efficient in removing pollutants from pond water than pond plants in pots.
